Fairyland flower fix
Client
Children’s Fairyland
Location
Oakland, CA
Year
2020
The Setup: It was May 2020, and Children’s Fairyland was still closed due to COVID. So were a lot of other local businesses, including florists. With Mother’s Day around the corner, folks were scrambling to find a way to send something special. No flowers? No fun.

The Idea: We decided to fix that the Fairyland way. The park’s horticulturist snipped blooms straight from the storybook gardens to create “raised-in-Oakland” bouquets. Real flowers. Grown onsite. Arranged with love. Magical problem-solving at its finest.

What Happened: We offered 20 bouquets through Fairyland’s social channels. They sold out in two days. We also used the moment to join in on Giving Tuesday, tying the bouquets to a fundraiser for the park. The focus wasn’t profit though, it was connection. And it worked.

The Outcome: Mother’s Day got a dose of Fairyland magic. The community felt the love. The park raised some funds. And everyone who bought a bouquet got a tax deduction as a bonus. Not bad for some snipped stems and a sprinkle of imagination.
